Foals | What Went Down

A couple of Mondays ago, it was evening and I was laying down, eyes closed, unwinding from the day when my phone chimed; a text message.

Eyes still closed, I reached to my left and grabbed the phone. 

The text message read:

Hey Chris! What's a good album for when you want to yell your guts out? I'm overwhelmed with the options on Spotify...

I chuckled. Not because my friend was having a shit day but because I'm usually asked about favorite upbeat, chill and groovy tracks, not ones for the blood-boiling, yell-your-guts-out occasion...though I knew the feeling.

She continued: 

I started with "Hate To Say I Told You So" by the Hives 

Solid choice.

I suggested Alice In Chains "Them Bones" and "Would?", Bush's "Machinehead," Nural's "The Hits Keep Coming," and Damien Rice's "Rootless Tree"...because everyone could use a good f*ck you sing-along every once in a frustrated while.

The next day, Foals released the music video for "What Went Down," the title track off their upcoming album due out August 28th. I watched and thought, 'Well, this would do too...'
